Discover what's on at this Pop-Up exhibition which is part of the UC Research Festival 2024
Published 02 November

The University of Canberra (UC) launched its third annual Research Festival at the Canberra Centre on the 1 of November, which included the unveiling of a unique pop-up installation - the Life of a CBRn – an experiential timeline of UC’s research that illustrates how it engages with and impacts the Canberra community throughout their lives.

Life of a CBRn

Life of a CBRn is an experiential timeline of a Canberran's life and how research from the University of Canberra has interacted with or impacted them at different stages across their life. From transforming our waterways into vibrant, safe havens to designing engaging ways to teach children vital STEM skills and working to reintroduce a native frog species to the region, UC research makes an indelible impact on our community and region.

From 1-28 November, Life of a CBRn: Canberra Centre pop-up exhibition will hold the timeline installation and be a hub of research storytelling and activity as part of UC's 2024 Research Festival. Visit the pop-up to explore the exhibition, hear from researchers at lunchtime drop-in sessions (Tuesday-Friday), and engage in fun activities.

Life of a CBRn

The Life of a CBRn is a free event held by the University of Canberra at Canberra Centre as part of Research Festival 2024. This year, the UC Research Festival will put a spotlight on the University’s researchers, and the work that they do for the community.

With 20 events to choose from, there is something for everyone in this month-long Festival, and plenty of opportunities to engage with researchers. Some of the UC Research Festival highlights include:

  • Life of a CBRn: An experiential timeline of a Canberran's life and how research from the University of Canberra has interacted with or impacted the community at different stages across their life. The pop-up exhibition will also host a range of events and activities during the Festival.

  • Ginninderry Community Day: Celebrating Ginninderry’s unique community and environment. There will be a range of fun, family-friendly activities demonstrating the work by UC researchers to make Ginninderry a better place to live and play.
  • Playful Pathways for Little Learners: A collection of education-focused activities designed for children aged 0-8 years and their parents/carers to spark curiosity, creativity and love for learning.
  • From Heatwaves to Moonwalks: Understanding Human Health and Movement: A collection of hands-on activities at which the community can learn more about the science of sport and physical performance, and related research at UC.
  • Guardians of the Game: Protecting women in sport from online harm: An online event focusing on UC's research into how sporting governing bodies manage of gendered cyber hate.
