Canberra Centre is replacing the current paper parking ticket system with the convenience of ticketless parking.
The new system will use vehicle license plate recognition technology, providing customers with a more efficient and streamlined parking experience. Customers will be able to pay for their parking either at new pay stations, or in their car at the gate as they exit the car park.
While installing the new system, we will also take the opportunity to upgrade some parking bays and our parking guidance system, making it even easier for visitors to find a car parking space at Canberra Centre.
Works will be undertaken in stages, with Stage 1 at the Coles/Fitness First Basement Car Park scheduled for completion in late September 2023. The new system is expected to be fully operational within 18 months.
Parking rates are outlined HERE.
Parking at the Coles/Fitness First Basement Car Park will also become cashless in line with the introduction of ticketless parking. Customers will be able to pay for their parking either at new cashless pay stations in the Basement Car Park, or in their car at the gate as they exit the car park. New digital screens will also be installed at exit and entry points as part of the transition to ticketless, providing information about parking at Canberra Centre. Customers will still have the option of paying either by card or by cash at those car parks where the ticket system is still in operation.
Customers wishing to continue to pay by cash for their parking at the Basement Car Park can proceed to the Car Park Management Office located on Level 1 Ainslie Car Park, accessed via the entrance to the Car Park at The Coffee Club to complete their payment at the office prior to returning to their vehicle.
