Presented by Craft + Design Canberra, paint your own boomerangs with artist Ross Spencer. Along the way, Ross will share the meaning behind Aboriginal symbols and cultural importance of these beautiful artifacts. Ross Spencer is a proud Wiradjuri artist from the Western Riverina of NSW, Narrungdera. Based on Ngunnawal, Ngambri Country in the Nation’s Capital, Ross continues the long tradition of creating wooden cultural artefacts, using skills and knowledge passed down through generations. Ross handcrafts a range of traditional tools and cultural pieces including boomerangs, shields, spears and clubs.
