We’re excited to announce the launch of our Return for Charity Bins, now available at two convenient locations within Canberra Centre. In partnership with the ACT Container Deposit Scheme, we are making it easier than ever for you to give back to the community while doing your part to reduce waste.
Where to Find the Bins
• Lower Ground Food Court – Near the escalators
• Outside of Bakers Delight.
Simply bring your eligible drink containers, such as bottles and cans, and drop them into the Return for Charity Bins. With every container you return, you’ll not only be helping to reduce litter and recycle, but you’ll also be donating 10 cents directly to a local charity.
How It Works:
1. Take your eligible drink containers (bottles and cans).
2. Drop them into the Return for Charity bins located in the Food Court and Coles Mall.
3. The 10c refund will be counted and donated to charity on your behalf.
4. Feel good knowing you’ve contributed to a great cause!
Supporting Canberra Centre's Christmas Appeal - The Joy Bringers
Joy Bringers is about bringing more meaning to the festive season by creating opportunities for connection, generosity, and shared experiences within our community.
The initiative recognises that Christmas is about more than shopping and gifting. It’s about coming together, creating moments of joy and giving back to those around us.
Through Joy Bringers, Canberra Centre will support local charities and community organisations through initiatives such as the Return for Charity bins. These initiatives help provide vital support to people and families in our community, turning small acts of generosity into meaningful impact.
Joy Bringers help spread the spirit of Christmas beyond Canberra Centre and into the wider community. By working alongside local organisations, we aim to create a more connected, caring, and joyful Christmas for everyone.
Why Should You Get Involved?
• Reduce waste: Help keep our city clean by recycling your bottles and cans.
• Make an impact: Every donation counts toward real change.
• Easy and convenient: You can drop off your recyclables while you’re already out shopping or enjoying a meal at Canberra Centre.
Join Us in Giving Back!
Every small action counts, and your recycling efforts are a simple yet powerful way to support the Canberra community. Next time you’re at Canberra Centre, look out for the Return for Charity Bins. Drop in your eligible containers, and know that your 10-cent refund is helping make a difference!
Thank you for supporting our Return for Charity initiative. Together, we can create a cleaner, more sustainable future, while helping those who need it most.
