Canberra Centre is proud to welcome EDITION x Sarrita King, a compelling collaboration between Canberra-based designer Alice van Meurs of EDITION and acclaimed Gurindji Waanyi artist Sarrita King.
Blending contemporary Australian fashion with powerful First Nations storytelling, the collection translates Sarrita King's distinctive artistic practice into wearable pieces that celebrate connection to Country, culture and community. Each garment reflects a unique fusion of artistic expression and innovative design, with Alice's signature zero-waste pattern-making techniques bringing Sarrita's creative vision to life through fashion.
The collection has been showcased at leading Australian fashion events including Country to Couture 2024, Melbourne Fashion Festival 2025, Melbourne Fashion Week 2025, and Australian Fashion Week 2026, where it has been celebrated for its seamless blend of contemporary design and Indigenous artistry.
Complementing the collection is jewellery by Phoebe Porter, whose handcrafted pieces enhance the artistic narrative of each look. Phoebe and EDITION have collaborated extensively across Australian Fashion Week, Melbourne Fashion Festival and editorial campaigns, creating a cohesive expression of contemporary fashion, art and adornment.
Inspired by themes of movement, landscape and the enduring connection between people and place, the collection features screen-printed and hand-painted textiles influenced by Sarrita's exploration of Country, pathways and story. Together, Alice van Meurs, Sarrita King and Phoebe Porter have created a body of work that celebrates culture, craftsmanship and creativity, showcasing the power of collaboration across fashion, visual art and jewellery design.
