Canberra Centre is thrilled to announce that iconic hair and beauty brand MECCA, will be opening their massive new concept store in the centre later this year.
The store will be located in the tenancy that currently houses Zara and will be one of the largest MECCA stores in Australia, boasting additional beauty services including private beauty rooms, and offering additional brands.
This announcement coincides with reconfiguration and upgrade works that have commenced in Canberra Centre in January to enhance the shopping experience for both customers and retail partners.
The works will include a number of new brands entering the Canberra market for the first time, and the return of a few fan favourites, demonstrating the confidence in Canberra’s retail industry.
“These works represent the ongoing evolution of retail and lifestyle offerings at Canberra Centre, to better meet the needs of our customers now and in the future, including the introduction of new-to-market brands and massive concept stores, and the redeployment of existing brands,” says Gary Stewart, General Manager, of Canberra Centre.
“We are committed to delivering these works in a responsible manner to preserve a welcoming, accessible environment during each phase of the project.”
“We look forward to sharing more information about our exciting plans for the centre once all commercial details have been finalised,” says Mr Stewart.
Works will include the creation of new and reconfigured tenancies throughout the whole of Ainslie Mall on Level 1, surrounding retailers Green House Coffee, Aje., and Watches of Switzerland. There will also be upgrades made to the roof and façade on Bunda Bridge.
Existing hoarding has already notified shoppers of a relocation of Green House Coffee as well as the opening of a Chanel Fragrance and Beauty store.
Works are expected to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to delays. To hear the latest updates on new stores as well as events at Canberra Centre, subscribe to our e-newsletter HERE.
